What is the difference between General and Automotive Masking Tape?
The primary differences are temperature threshold, solvent barrier, and edge sharpness:
- General Masking (Series 01): Crepe paper rated up to 60°C. Ideal for painting, bundling, labelling, DIY, and non-bake general commercial jobs.
- Automotive Masking (Series 02): Specially treated crepe rated up to 80°C bake-oven cycles. Resists automotive solvents, paints, and thinners. Offers ultra-crisp colour separation with zero adhesive ghosting on clear coats.
What is the temperature limit for your Automotive Masking Tape?
Our Automotive Masking Tape (Series 02) is rated for bake-oven exposure up to 80°C (176°F) for up to 60 minutes.
Its cross-linked rubber adhesive ensures the tape remains securely anchored without lifting or curling under baking temperatures, and strips cleanly off metal, plastic bumpers, and glass without leaving any residue.
Do your masking tapes leave any sticky residue upon removal?
No. Clean removal is our hallmark engineering standard. We balance adhesion tack with high internal adhesive cohesion. As long as the tape is removed within recommended application windows and temperature thresholds, it peels away cleanly in one piece without tearing or leaving adhesive behind.
